About Me

Lynne Tapper

I am a lifelong endurance athlete with the dual goal of training and racing until my bones turn to dust and sharing that passion with as many people as possible.

This week’s W.O.W. comes from my aunt Marge.  She underwent an oophorectomy and PBM (prophylactic bilateral mastectomy) a number of years ago while in her 60s.

We made the decision at different times in our lives, and I’m not sure what I would do at your age. I’d like to think that I would make the same decision. I remember Fred’s aunt telling me over the phone when I told her my news about my decision – that I was brave. I demurred and said that a fireman risking his life going into a burning building is brave. I was just decisive and confident. The same goes for you.

Thank you Marge for understanding that everyone makes their own decisions on their own time.
