About Me

Lynne Tapper

I am a lifelong endurance athlete with the dual goal of training and racing until my bones turn to dust and sharing that passion with as many people as possible.

Chai is the Hebrew word for ‘Life.’ The letters, Chet (8th letter in the Hebrew alphabet) and Yud (10th letter) totals 18. Eighteen is considered a LUCKY NUMBER. It also happens that there are 18 days left until I am playing in the 4th Annual Capitol Cup Fundraiser for Capitol Squash.

Everyone could use a little luck in their lives. And if not luck, then some guardian angel that looks over them to make sure they get the support they need, a break now and then and that little extra push to help them succeed in their lives.

If you don’t believe me, read below to hear Capitol Squash 8th grader, Julissa, has to say.

I quickly learned the game and realized that if I worked hard, I could continue to improve. I noticed how squash started opening doors for me, and by seventh grade, I knew that being a top player would better my chances of attending a good college. My coaches have been amazing mentors – encouraging me and building my skills. In return, I have given my all into doing my best in the sport, working hard, and respecting my coaches’ ideas and advice.

I have been playing squash for four years now and a whole new world has presented itself to me.  I have not only excelled at the sport, but I have learned so many other life skills. I am more confident and able to present myself well in interviews, when talking with coaches, all while helping to lead my team. I often think about where I would be today if I didn’t take the chance in fifth grade and allow strangers to help me find my full potential. That one small decision has, and will always continue to have, a positive impact on my entire life.  Click this link to make a donation.

I have 18 days remaining in my campaign to raise even more money.  Here’s how you can help:

  • Make a donation of $18, $118, $180, $1,800 (A girl can dream!)

  • Have your company make a donation in one of these amounts.

  • Forward this email to anyone you know who plays squash.

  • Forward this email to anyone you know who mentors a student.

  • Forward this email to yourself just in case you say, “I’ll do this later.”

I feel very strongly about my direct involvement in this organization and the impact it is having on the kids it serves.  Please assist me in helping them continue their mission.

I know you are most likely regularly bombarded with requests for donations. Maybe that’s because you are such a giving person or that there are just so many credible situations and causes that need your support.

I hope you will choose to donate to Capitol Squash. Please click here to donate to my fundraising efforts for the Capitol Cup on March 24, 2018. http://bit.ly/tappercc2018

Thank you!
