About Me

Lynne Tapper

I am a lifelong endurance athlete with the dual goal of training and racing until my bones turn to dust and sharing that passion with as many people as possible.

I’m thrilled to be participating in my 3rd consecutive Capitol Cup, a funfundraiser for Capitol Squash; a Hartford based non-profit organization that teaches and coaches Hartford students by:

  • learning the game of squash
  • providing after-school activities
  • offering academic support
  • facilitating community service initiatives
  • benefitting these young students by helping them use squash as an entrance to college

Many of you have donated to support this impactful organization in the past and I’m hopeful that you will do so this year. Last year, I was thrilled to see the range of generous donations from $25 to $1,000. I hope you can see yourself making a donation somewhere along that spectrum this year.  Take 90 seconds and make your donation now so the instinct doesn’t get lost in the swirl of your daily “to-do” list.

I have put my money and my time where my “mouth is.” I’ve joined the Board for Capitol Squash, Leland and I have made a significant annual donation and I’m active on several sub-committees. Not only am I entering my 3rd year as a Board Member, but I’m also thrilled to see how my two children have become involved in ways that have meaning to them. It has truly become a family affair.

To celebrate Eli’s 12th birthday, he asked friends, family and his school community to donate books for the Capitol Squash library. This was a way for Eli to share his love for reading and learning with kids his own age.
I’m proud of how Sofie has used her camera as she continues on her journey. One of her stops has been to take photos for Capitol Squash, many of which have been featured in this year’s Annual Report (and this newsletter and on my sponsorship page!).

For this year’s fundraiser, I have teamed up once again with Dan Joseph and Walter Harrison for TEAM CORRIDOR.
