About Me

Lynne Tapper

I am a lifelong endurance athlete with the dual goal of training and racing until my bones turn to dust and sharing that passion with as many people as possible.

7 months! I did it.

I know that finishing the race on August 17th will be the cherry on top of the proverbial triathlon sundae.  But, considering all that I’ve been through in the past 5 years, beginning with my 2 herniated discs in 2010 and various prophylactic surgeries in 2009, 2011 and 2012, completing the Ironman training, feeling strong and uninjured, is a major accomplishment.  (For more details, check out my other blog,

My goal from day one has been to get to the starting line feeling strong, healthy and excited.

The final 2-3 weeks of training will be filled with shorter sessions, rest and good nutrition.

In my case, it also is filled with a week of Team Training New England’s Kids Triathlon Camp.

So in between bike tune-ups, packing, kids camp and family activities, I’ll rest, have some body work, eat well and try to visualize race weekend.

The final step in ironman training is a pedicure!

Let the taper begin!
