About Me

Lynne Tapper

I am a lifelong endurance athlete with the dual goal of training and racing until my bones turn to dust and sharing that passion with as many people as possible.

7 months! I did it.

I know that finishing the race on August 17th will be the cherry on top of the proverbial triathlon sundae.  But, considering all that I’ve been through in the past 5 years, beginning with my 2 herniated discs in 2010 and various prophylactic surgeries in 2009, 2011 and 2012, completing the Ironman training, feeling strong and uninjured, is a major accomplishment.  (For more details, check out my other blog, www.onbeingpositive.com)

My goal from day one has been to get to the starting line feeling strong, healthy and excited.

The final 2-3 weeks of training will be filled with shorter sessions, rest and good nutrition.

In my case, it also is filled with a week of Team Training New England’s Kids Triathlon Camp.

So in between bike tune-ups, packing, kids camp and family activities, I’ll rest, have some body work, eat well and try to visualize race weekend.

The final step in ironman training is a pedicure!

Let the taper begin!
